The Week ...
I hope that your week went well !! Mine was full of fun stuff, Fit By Nature on Monday and we hit up the Holland state Park beach which was AWESOME. Tuesday was the Zeeland Zoom 5k and I ran a 21:18 which I was super happy about since all I have been doing is long runs lately. My speedy sister ran a 19:55 OMG she is so fast !!! So proud of her. Wednesday was a run out in Jamestown area with Barb and the Running group followed by a swim in the Pool and BBQ with some of the running group. Thursday was my outdoor fitness class and we roamed the sidewalks of Zeeland, running, side shuffling, grape-vining ...etc.. it was fun.
The Weekend
Friday we went for a walk with Riley in Zeeland and stopped to get Fro Yo at Fuzzy Peach it was a very nice night. Saturday Morning I busted out my new road bike for a 42 mile bike ride with the running group to Grand Haven and back. We stopped for a little breakfast in Grand Haven at Morning Star Cafe, what a neat place!! The rest of Saturday I didn't do much b/c of a headache :( Boo. We did go out for dinner though in the evening to Salt and Pepper. Sunday my sister and I headed out to River Haven Marina where my parents are keeping the boat this year and we got to do some skiing and spend some time in the sun, which was very nice !!

MI Adventure Racing
Run. Bike. Paddle. Search. Conquer.
Adventure Racing a growing curiosity in the West MI area:
By:Debbie Lenters
Looking for a little adventure? Here's something for you. How about an adventure
race? And no, you will not have to traverse the Sahara desert (maybe Silver Lake dunes, however) or climb Mount Kilimanjaro or eat crawling bugs. Adventure racing or AR is a multi-sport, team event where racers navigate their way from checkpoint to checkpoint using a map, compass and route strategy within a set time length. It is a fast growing, exciting and new way of incorporating fun exercise into your life while exploring all that our beautiful state has to offer.Disciplines include navigation, orienteering, road and trail biking, trekking and sometimes kayaking or rock climbing. Why in the world would I do this? Because you need something different to motivate you. Because you want to challenge your inner self, you want a fun wilderness experience, team work, and to explore new places. It’s just downright fun and leaves you feeling totally exhausted and exhilarated all at the same time. Michigan Adventure Racing (miadventureracing.com) has several races coming up this fall including an Epic Edition on Aug 8, an urban race based around art prize on Oct 10, and a winter edition. They have mastered the art of combining extreme fun with extreme organization, safety and motivation. From the first place finisher to the last to cross the line, all competitors feel an enormous sense of accomplishment and gratitude for the support and encouragement received throughout the race. Why now? Because of all that Holland has to offer, there is now a race in the works for Summer of 2016 that will be held in Holland; utilizing both the north and south side. So, this is the time to get involved and start picturing yourself out there. Don't know how to navigate a topographical map or use a compass? We can help you there. Park Township is offering a class this summer on June 25 at 7pm at the Park Township Community Center. We will walk you through an adventure race, how to navigate using a compass, how to read a topographical map and then allow time to practice your skills in the woods as you search for a checkpoint flag.

Girls on the Run 5K + Groove
Girls on the Run 5k Recap
We had so much FUN!! this Past Season we had some great lesson, and some great conversations along with lots of running :) Good Runs, Bad Runs, Fun Runs all of them lead up to or FINAL 5k of the season. What a blessing to have been able to spend two day a week after school with these GREAT girls.
The Entire Group :) Mon/Wed and Tues/Thur 7 Coaches 34 Girls
Lots of GROOVE at Practices, A Fundraiser (we raised $250), and On Stage at the 5K Event !!
Lots of Friendships :)
LOTS and LOTS of SMILES
LOTS of LOVE
And LOTS of FAITHFULNESS
Through out all of lessons and Running we learned so much about ourselves we learned about the things that tempt us in life, the things that might push us down wrong paths in life, things that might scare us or trip us up. Even with all of that as a team we know that the Lord is there for us. We are going to RUN the RACE that he has set before us !!!
Hebrews 12:1-3New Living Translation (NLT)
12:Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. 2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.[a] Because of the joy[b] awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. 3 Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people;[c] then you won’t become weary and give up.
